Hello, my name is Kenzie and I’m the English assistant at CEIP Santa Teresa for the 2021-2022 school year! I come from California in the United States, and I grew up in a town near San Francisco. I studied Cognitive Science at the University of California, Berkeley.
This school year, I am shared between the two primary schools in Albaida del Aljarafe and switch off between schools each week which gives me the opportunity to work with many students! In CEIP Santa Teresa, I work with all the grades from 1st to 6th grade! I help out mostly in the Social Science and Natural Science classes, and I also work in two classes of English as a foreign language. It’s been really fun to get to know the students and their different personalities - and they are so sweet greeting me each day! I look forward to speaking to the students every week and helping them with their English.

Hola! Me llamo Kenzie y soy la auxiliar de inglés en CEIP Santa Teresa para el año escolar de 2021-2022. Soy de California, de los Estados Unidos, y crecí en un pueblo cerca de San Francisco. Estudié en la Universidad de California, Berkeley con un grado en Ciencias Cognitivas.
Este año, trabajo en los dos colegios en Albaida de Aljarafe. Cambio entre las dos escuelas cada semana, lo cual me da la oportunidad de trabajar con muchos estudiantes! En CEIP Santa Teresa, trabajo con todos los cursos desde primero hasta sexto. Ayudo principalmente en las clases de ciencias sociales y ciencias naturales, y también ayudo en dos clases de inglés como lengua extranjera. Ha sido muy divertido conociendo los alumnos y sus personalidades diferentes - y son muy amables saludándome cada día! Cada semana, me da alegría hablando con los alumnos y ayudándoles con el inglés!

Albaida del Aljarafe es un municipio español de la provincia de Sevilla, Andalucía. En el año 2021 contaba con 3.221 habitantes. Su extensión superficial es de 11 km² y tiene una densidad de 291 hab/km². Se encuentra situada a una altitud de 163 metros sobre el nivel del mar, muy cercano al Corredor Verde del Guadiamar, que ostenta la calificación de Espacio Natural Protegido. Este lugar influye en el territorio, incluyéndolo en diversas rutas e itinerarios. Municipio eminentemente agrícola y ganadero. En el ámbito de la agricultura predomina sobre todo el olivar de verdeo, seguido por los cereales y las oleaginosas. En la ganadería, domina la caprina y la porcina. Cuenta con industrias relevantes de la aceituna de mesa como http://www.olivaida.com/ . Como dato curioso, en el municipio se encuentra uno de los pocos hornos de ladrillos artesanos que quedan en Andalucía. Oficio que se remonta a la edad media. En particular, la población de Albaida se socializa a través de las hermandades. Conserva restos arqueológicos de asentamientos en las épocas prerromana (turdetanos) y del Alto Imperio romano. Restos romanos: en la zona denominada Fuente Salobre y Fuente Archena. Restos musulmanes: son numerosas las acequias, galerías y otros vestigios de esa cultura, en el propio pueblo. Torre de don Fadrique: llamada "Torre Mocha" por los vecinos debido a la falta de su parte superior. Hermandad de la Vera+Cruz. Iglesia parroquial de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción Templo que data del siglo XVIII, de estilo neoclásico.construido sobre el original del s.XIV y de estilo mudéjar,derribado por el terremoto de Lisboa (1755).
Contiene imágenes, lienzos y otros objetos litúrgicos de gran valor de los siglos XVII, XVIII y XIX.

En Albaida hay numerosas asociaciones que se encargan en promover el deporte de nuestro municipio. CD Albaida es el equipo de fútbol del pueblo. Albaida limita con otros pueblos de la provincia como Olivares o Sánlucar La Mayor, siendo estos pueblos importantes de la comarca debido a la densidad de población, cultura, fiestas populares. Otros pueblos vecinos serían Valencina, donde se puede visitar los Dólmenes, Santiponce donde disfrutamos de las ruinas de Itálica (una ciudad romana), Aznalcóllar donde visitar sus minas, Huévar para visitar fábricas de dulces artesanales. |

ALOJAMIENTO -¿Dónde vivir en la localidad? -¿Posibilidad de compartir piso con docentes? | Albaida ofrece alquiler de casas unifamiliares. Los pueblos vecinos de Olivares y Sanlúcar también suelen ser una tentación para el alojamiento. El colegio Santa Teresa recibe todos los años nuevos docentes, quienes algunos de ellos suelen alojarse en el mismo pueblo o muy cerca. |

Albaida del Aljarafe is a Spanish municipality in the province of Seville, Andalusia. In 2021 it had 3,221 inhabitants. Its surface extension is 11 km² and it has a density of 291 inhabitants/km². In Albaida there are numerous associations that are responsible for promoting sports in our municipality. CD Albaida is the town's soccer team. Albaida borders other towns in the province such as Olivares or Sánlucar La Mayor, towns which are important in the region due to the density of population, culture, and popular festivals. Other neighboring towns are Valencina, where you can visit the Dolmens, Santiponce where we can enjoy the ruins of Itálica (a Roman city), Aznalcóllar where you can visit its mines, and Huévar to visit artisan sweet factories.
